A hotly contested Colorado water project is one step closer to construction after the Bureau of Reclamation released its final environmental impact statement on the project last week. But proposed environmental remediation measures “fall short,” according to environmentalists who have reviewed the proposal, and would put a significant dent in native wildlife populations and the local communities that rely on them.
