Two experts from Amsterdam will share stories and pictures of transportation, mobility and urban planning in the Netherlands and elsewhere in Europe.
Thomas Straatemeier is a consultant at Goudappel Coffeng. Goudappel Coffeng is the oldest company in the field of urban transportation planning in the Netherlands. Thomas is specialized in transport and land-use integration and sustainable urban mobility. He is also a lecturer at University of Amsterdam and has worked for the urban planning department of the city of Amsterdam. He works by the motto that a shift is needed from planning for mobility to planning for accessibility.
Marco te Brömmelstroet is an Assistant Professor in Urban Planning at the Unviersity of Amsterdam. His academic interests are the relations between land use and mobility, the use of knowledge in planning practice, and the role of the bicycle in cities and regions. He is also a bike entrepeneur in the German city of Munich. In this latter function he is especially interested in how marketing can help in increasing bicycle use.
