Get-It-There, a Boulder bicycle messenger business, is expanding its services. “Our plan is to use our fastest bicycle messengers to pick up patients from all over Boulder County in our customized Burleys™ and deliver them to local hospital emergency rooms,” said bicycle ambulance owner Skip Freewheel, referring to the popular bike trailer brand. “We’ll have a trained companion animal in the trailer with you to tend to your wounds…well, lick them most likely.”
Mr. Freewheel thinks Get-You-There, the new division of Get-It-There, will be a great alternative for non-motorists to get to the hospital in a green way that helps preserve the environment. When asked if people wouldn’t prefer an automotive ambulance, Mr. Freewheel shouted, “Bikes rule, cars drool!” and added, “ You probably wouldn’t have made it anyway dude.”
