Finding The Switzerland Trail of America

Wednesday, May 12, 2010
7pm

After the horse and before the car, people and materials traveled by railroad. The Switzerland Trail of America was a little narrow gauge railroad track built in phases starting in 1883. It departed from the Union Depot at 10th and Water (now Canyon) Streets and wound its way through the small mountain towns of Boulder County until it reached its final destination of Ward.

This slide show will be presented by Michael O’Neill. Come learn about how the railroad got started, what route it took and what types of materials were transported up and down the mountain.

This FREE program is co-sponsored by Boulder History Museum and the Boulder Library Foundation.

Event Location:
Carnegie Branch Library for Local History
