The tempest from the most recent City of Boulder mayor selection has motivated the City Council to modify the process by which new mayors are picked.   Traditionally, the mayor has been chosen by the sitting City Council through a simple election of one of its members.  In the future, the new mayor will be selected using a single elimination game of Twister with the City Manager operating the spinner.  The game must be played in stocking feet to protect the game board for future City Councils.

“We picked Twister because we thought that if we picked Sorry, there would still be hurt feelings,” said Mayor Appelbaum.

The match will be televised on Channel 8 live from council chambers.  In the unlikely event of a tie, a three out of five round of rock-paper-scissors will be used to choose the new mayor.
