Francoise Poinsatte served on City Council from 1999-2003 where she promoted environmental protection, sustainable land use and transportation planning, affordable housing and human services. She helped organize the Climate Smart campaign to place the carbon tax before the voters to fund the Climate Action Plan (CAP), to help enable the City to reach the goals of the Kyoto Protocol. As a member of the city's Environmental Advisory board she has been working to shape programs and policy with the CAP advisory group and is now on the social mobilization task force. She has been working as a teacher for the Boulder Valley School District and as a tutor during the summer. She has lived in Boulder since 1981. Her husband Tom works as an energy software engineer, and her children Taran and Tasia are in college.
