About the author:

Lars Gesing, 24, is a Graduate journalism student at the University of Colorado Boulder. He moved here in the summer of 2013 from Hamburg, Germany, where he worked for several print and online publications, including the daily regional newspaper Hamburger Abendblatt. He did his undergraduate studies in sports journalism and sports management. Lars likes to spend his free time following international politics, reading, playing tennis and watching sports.
