BVSD Budget Forum

By

Boulder Public Library Main Branch, 1001 Arapahoe Ave., Boulder

Given the unprecedented cuts to Colorado public education and to Boulder Valley School District (BVSD) this school year and next, Superintendent Chris King has scheduled 13 superintendent’s community budget forums to be held throughout the school district at different times during the day.

Each meeting is scheduled for 90 minutes with the first third scheduled for an explanation of the 2010-2011 BVSD budget process in general and next year’s BVSD budget challenges in particular. The final hour of each meeting is intended to be a dialogue between community members present and Dr. King. These meetings are important to the final shaping of the preliminary budget in April and the proposed budget in May. By law, the Boulder Valley Board of Education must adopt the BVSD 2010-2011 annual budget no later than June 30, 2010. The 2010-2011 fiscal year begins Thursday, July 1, 2010.
