The City of Boulder’s Water Resources Advisory Board (WRAB) will discuss the flood mitigation alternatives that were developed for the South Boulder Creek Study at a special meeting:
WRAB Meeting
Tuesday, Dec. 14
7 p.m.
Municipal Services Center (City Yards)
5050 E. Pearl Street
WRAB will review the nine alternatives developed for mitigation. At the meeting, the project team will recommend that five of the nine alternatives be selected for further refinement and analysis. If approved, the five alternatives would be further evaluated to identify construction phasing, and additional discussion would be conducted with the public and property owners to identify any issues related to construction of proposed improvements.
Alternative Four: Regional Detention near Highway 93, which required purchasing private property near Highway 93, raised significant concern from property owners and neighbors and is not being recommended for further study. However, in response to feedback, a new “Distributed Regional Detention Alternative” was developed, which uses only city Open Space property and/or private property with willing sellers.
