{"id":7558,"date":"2011-08-30T21:26:45","date_gmt":"2011-08-31T03:26:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.boulderblueline.org\/?p=7558"},"modified":"2011-11-18T12:21:04","modified_gmt":"2011-11-18T19:21:04","slug":"boulder-chamber-to-endorse-for-the-first-time","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.boulderblueline.org\/?p=7558","title":{"rendered":"Boulder Chamber to Endorse for the First Time"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.boulderblueline.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/dreamstime_xs_13336890.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-7575\" title=\"dreamstime_xs_13336890\" src=\"http:\/\/www.boulderblueline.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/dreamstime_xs_13336890.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"480\" height=\"320\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.boulderblueline.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/dreamstime_xs_13336890.jpg 480w, http:\/\/www.boulderblueline.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/dreamstime_xs_13336890-300x200.jpg 300w, http:\/\/www.boulderblueline.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/dreamstime_xs_13336890-400x266.jpg 400w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 480px) 100vw, 480px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>For the first time in its 106-year history, the <a title=\"chamber site\" href=\"http:\/\/www.boulderchamber.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Boulder Chamber of Commerce<\/a> will endorse candidates for the Boulder City Council.\u00a0 The Chamber advocates for over 1,600 businesses employing 80,000 employees.\u00a0 Members include the Boulder Valley School District, CU, Naropa, and several government agencies, including the federal labs NIST, NREL, UCAR and NOAA.<\/p>\n<p>In an email to council candidates, Chamber Public Affairs Manager Angelique Espinoza explained that the organizations <a title=\"Bldr Tomorrow\" href=\"http:\/\/bouldertomorrow.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Boulder Tomorrow<\/a>, the Boulder Chamber, <a title=\"DBI\" href=\"http:\/\/www.boulderdowntown.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Downtown Boulder, Inc.<\/a> and the <a title=\"bara site\" href=\"http:\/\/www.baraonline.com\/home\" target=\"_blank\">Boulder Area Realtor Association<\/a> will be hosting a <a title=\"chamber questionnaire\" href=\"http:\/\/www.zoomerang.com\/Survey\/WEB22CYKQXRZEX\" target=\"_blank\">candidate questionnaire<\/a>.\u00a0 Her email also states,<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The Boulder Chamber plans to endorse City Council Candidates for the first time this year. The Endorsement Subcommittee will use responses received by midnight on September 11 to select candidates to invite for 25 minute interviews. Interviews will be held on September 14<sup>th<\/sup> and 15<sup>th<\/sup> between 3pm and 6 pm at the Chamber building on 2440 Pearl Street. The Subcommittee will then recommend endorsements for the full Boulder Chamber Board to consider at its September 19<sup>th<\/sup> Board Meeting. Final endorsements will be announced on September 20<sup>th<\/sup>.<\/p>\n<p>In accordance with the Chamber\u2019s endorsement protocol, no member of the subcommittee will formally or substantially assist any candidate within the races the Chamber is considering for endorsements until after endorsements are finalized.
