We have begun asking tough but important questions about how we in Colorado are going to use water in our arid state and how we are going to sustain a viable culture if we continue the current water waste practices.

Now is the time to stop the dam in our neighborhood. Now is the time to rethink the nonstop push for more dams, which do not actually create more water. Rather, dams drain rivers and allow continued reliance on overconsumption. Join your neighbors in a conversation about how to stop this dam and how to move forward.

The Gross Reservoir Enlargement Project is a project of Denver Water and will cost upwards of $150M. Imagine if that money was spent on far-reaching conservation and retooling efforts rather than to serve water to the anticipated Candelas Development, a project with big-box retail and multiple golf courses, thousands of houses and no public transportation, along Hwy 93 between Golden and Boulder!
