Boulder’s 20-year franchise agreement with Xcel Energy expired last year, giving our community the chance to determine the best path for achieving its energy goals. Now the city is considering a variety of proposals, including the creation of a municipal utility, or a commitment to a new 20-year franchise with Xcel in a partnership that includes a major investment in wind energy.<\/p>\n

It is important for the Boulder community to be informed and engaged in the decision about the future of the city’s energy options. The city is holding a series of public meetings to provide information on the research and analysis to date, and to gather your feedback.<\/p>\n

Public Feedback: Question period followed by open microphone for comments. Each presenter allowed two minutes. Please register when you arrive; speakers will present in first-come, first-served order. Speakers who cannot be accommodated will be invited to submit comments in writing.<\/p>\n
