We get it, Ken, this is going to be hard. But evidently you did not get the memo: All the easy things have been done. Yes, we&#8217;re up against a multi-billion-dollar utility, the Colorado Public Utilities Commission and the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, all devoted to preserving the <em>status quo<\/em>. Yes, we can&#8217;t expect to get this done without a big fight. Yes, we&#8217;re not going to win every contest. But, if we stick with it and pull it off we&#8217;ll get to keep $35 million in profits that Xcel takes out of our community each year, we&#8217;ll be able to bring some of the salary expense of running the utility into our own local economy, and we&#8217;ll no longer be subsidizing growth and inefficiency all across the state. This is all worth the try, and we don&#8217;t need you telling us to punt on second down.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Good grief, Ken Wilson is such a raging pessimist.
