From Al Bartlett: On Monday evening March 29 the George Gamow Memorial Lecture will be given at 7:30
PM in Macky Auditorium. The speaker is Professor Richard Alley of Penn State University. He is one of the leading research people in studying what is happening to the Greenland and other ice sheets because of rising temperatures. A few years ago I wrote a review of his book “The Two-Mile Time Machine” which described his
work in Greenland. He is excellent in his research and writing. This talk should be of interest to all who are concerned with the big picture of what is happening to the Earth.
